About

Sowing renewal in luxury Blue Mountain coffee.

With over 20 years of community partnerships in the Blue Mountains, we’ve watched traditional market dynamics slow down the progress of this historic and sought after coffee. It’s time for small farmers to receive a fare shake, and it’s time for luxury coffee companies, prizing direct and fair trade, to reap the benefits of specialty coffee’s crown jewel.

We believe that the best way to sustainably and cost-effectively grow Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is through a community-focused model that works with valued outgrowers to extend their expertise into our own production. We work with small farms to develop well-paying outgrower partnerships, and we champion global investment in Blue Mountain cultivation through farm syndication.

Our Team

Blue Mountain Best is launched by a dedicated team of Jamaican coffee and agricultural experts, world-class executives and entrepreneurs who believe in Blue Mountain coffee, its history and its unique value in the coffee industry. With operations in Canada, Jamaica and the United States, we bring together an international coalition of leaders in luxury and Jamaican coffee.

Over 20 years of agricultural partnerships in Jamaica’s Blue Mountains guide our agricultural expertise in the region. In Jamaica, our general management, labor and agricultural guidance is facilitated by an experienced network of community partners led by Peter D. Thomas Farms, a several-generation grower in the Blue Mountains.

Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee

Scarce and sought after, Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is one of the most expensive and luxurious brews grown anywhere. An arabica bean cultivated on trees unique to the island, Blue Mountain coffee thrives in the cool and misty high altitudes of the island’s eastern side. Certified Blue Mountain coffee takes almost twice as long to grow as coffee in other regions, imparting an exceptionally rich, sweet aroma to its beans that makes Blue Mountain coffee the most prized cup in the world.

Historic and Celebrated

The Jamaican coffee industry is nearly 300 years old. Beginning in the 1720s, Jamaican coffee quickly emerged as a luxury bean in coffee consumption. After the abolition of slavery, coffee became the island’s largest agricultural export and a source of immense pride for the nearly 8,000 coffee farmers who call the Blue Mountains home. As a producer, Blue Mountain Best honors this rich history, while respecting the ownership that Blue Mountain farmers have—both historic and cultural—over this sought after coffee.

Luxurious and Valuable

Renowned for its exceptional sweetness and aroma, full bodied richness and mild acidity, Blue Mountain coffee earns the highest unit value for its exports than any other coffee in the world. Where the average export price for Arabica beans total around $4 per kilogram, Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee sells at $80 to $100 per pound once roasted. Poised to stabilize and increase production through commercial techniques, Blue Mountain Best is positioned to supply Blue Mountain coffee’s value and quality to luxury coffee consumers around the world.
